WW2 Luftwaffe Lkp-N101 Mesh Flight Helmet
The LKpN101 Mesh Flight Helmet (Netzkopfhaube) used by fighter pilots of the German Luftwaffe throughout WW2
This fine example of this net-top helmet popular with Luftwaffe pilots as it was designed for comfort and without the restriction of a chinstrap. This classic mesh flying helmet which has become famous with Luftwaffe fighter pilots in WW2.
This example has a manufacturers label coded BXO indicating it was made by Deutsche Telphonwerke und Kabelindustrie AG, Berlin SO 36.
The external part of the helmet is a dark brown leather ear housing and brown netting. complete with the original wiring loom with plug and cable
Original throat microphones marked (Mi 4c BX0 Ln 26779-3) with the press stud fitting. Sheep’s wool to the interior of the earpieces. Original makers specification label to the interior of the helmet.
Two siemens-Halske throat microphones on a leather and chamois lined neck strap, secured with one press-stud fastener
This Luftwaffe LKp-N101 Flying Helmet is fitted with the rare rabbit fur lined earphones marked Ln26602 and chamois backed headband.
The body of the helmet was constructed of lightweight cotton mesh, reinforced over the top and around the back with bands of cotton webbing and across the brow with chamois lined leather Fleece or fur lined
